For aLL the hypes about smart phones, do you reaLLy bother..

Sorry boss. I blue collar worker one. My english only 7 on the stupid ielts test. Neber listen to mummy and to stay in school.

Don't worry. I'll do my best to help out.

You need an eye test. I specifically said that "I use the iPod touch instead". I have highlighted the sentence for your benefit.

Oh yeah i saw it in the last sentence but then again you should have stated that right at the beginning rather than put it right at the end. Reading the first few sentences gives the impression that you are using a smart phone as a remote control.

If you haven't tried an Apple iPhone, how do you know it isn't for you:confused:

Apple has experience in making hardware that's more idiot proof than other companies & this may explain why it's so popular with newbies & senior citizens. I have owned an iPhone & I decided to give it to someone who really appreciates it more than I did. I miss the ability of being able to make plenty of notes but for me it was too heavy compared to my simpler Sony Ericsson W810i.

Perhaps i have aLways beLonged to the 'anti-estabLishment' cLass..hence i prefer not to foLLow th main stream..for better or worse.;)

Being a luddite doesn't make you "anti establishment".

You come across as being pro establishment actually.

I don't bother with smart phones, but it's nothing to do with being pro or anti establishment.
Just don't see the need to be "online or in tune or whatever" all the time.
Most of these advances in technologies don't seem to have improved human behaviour or made the world a better place anyway.
In some cases, they have made it worse.

That's not the case when it comes to the internet. It's been wonderful. I've been able to run a business without having to deal with people face to face which is a godsend in my case as I generally take an instant dislike to 95% of the people I meet.

Internet is a great invention with far more pluses than minuses.
I was referring more to these new gadgets, apps, upgrades, mobility, that people carry around and seem to think that it makes them smarter or more knowledgeable.
And let's face it, as I told u before, we are both "peoplists".

We all assume that a mobile phone and a smartphone is one and the same and serves the same function. One is a car and other is a plane. They are both transport vehicles.

More people have stopped making invasive and disruptive phone calls and now rely on messaging. SMS is costly, and other formats are either free or cheaper.

Familes and loved ones prefer Facetime which is amazing in terms of visual and auditory features. Then there is host of features as a result of a mini PC in it.

People can transfer funds for personal and business use. They can order things on the fly. They can get immediate visual when the sensor in their home is activated. Etc etc etc.

Then we have those who buy an smartphone and only use the phone because they need to be inclusive, fashionable and image conscious. It no different to someone paying thousands of dollars to buy watches and handbags. They kids themselves claiming these to be investment.

Life goes on.
