Did anyone wonder why a few hours of heavy rain will caused flood all over?

I remember 10 years ago or even longer before, when torrential rain over Singapore for a few days did not caused flood like today; what is happening?

I kind of suspect that the PWD and urban planning may have cock up some where some time? Could it be the marina barrage ? Anyone with the domain knowledge care to shed some light on the matter?

Every time after a couple of hours of heavy rain, there's ponding in sillipore-just like any THIRD WORLD country-PROBLEM is we are PAYING FIRST WORLD PRICES.
Paying European/USA pricing (or higher) -but getting Pinoy, Indian and PRC quality-something uniquely sillipore.
I don't mind more flooding as the 60% deserves it -TO THE 60%-YOU ASK FOR IT.
I ask for more dengue, more haze, more MRT breakdowns for the 60%.

Probably more than 1 cockups acting in concert to cause the floods. With the pace of construction going on in Spore I doubt there is anyone looking at all the potential problems i.e. mismanagement of Spore.

Nowadays the PAP is only looking at the $$$ & ignoring the problems until they are caught by surprise. PAP's mismanagement can be seen by the floods, breakdowns, increase cases of dengue, long queues at poly clinics,....
