The heavy downpour and strong winds may have caused flash floods all over the island, but now, even this shelter at Novena Square is not even really a 'shelter' anymore, thanks to the bad weather.

STOMPer Jenny wrote:

Heavy rain once again caused flooding in Singapore, this time at Hindu Road yesterday (Jul 1).

STOMPer Lim sent this video of the resultant flood along Hindu Road following a heavy downpour on July 1.

STOMP has contacted Lim for more details.

The security gates at a Bedok South condo were jammed by an electrical trip during the heavy downpour on Jun 25, explains the East Coast Town Council.

In an earlier article, STOMPer Tricia reported that residents were trapped because the gates at all lift lobbies at this condominium in Bedok South had malfunctioned.

A spokesperson for East Coast Town Council told STOMP:

"We thank Ms Tricia for her feedback regarding the malfunction of the security gate at Bedok South.

"During the heavy downpour on June 25, 2010, we received feedback on the malfunction of the security gates at Block 5 Bedok South Avenue 2.

"The security gates broke down because the electrical supply for the gate tripped due to the heavy downpour.

"An emergency override behind a breakable glass panel is installed for security to deactivate the security gate when it malfunctions.

"On that morning, residents made use of the emergency device to deactivate the system and open the gates.

"The fault was rectified and the electrical supply for the gates resumed on the same day."
