It looks like the AHPETC-NEA saga is not about to end.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) is not going to just stop at that.

Not contend with bringing the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) down, the NEA now wants to sue the operator of another event at the AHPETC.

Event organiser Colorzon Events and Design had held an event at Kovan City from Monday. However, NEA said that it had not applied for a permit to do so.

NEA then sent warnings to Colorzon to stop the fair.

But Colorzon ignored the warnings. It continued to organise the event for the residents on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thus NEA said that it "will be proceeding with enforcement action against the operator for the offence of operating a fair without permit from the Director-General of Public Health".

Colorzon will have to attend court.

The event is being held at the Worker's Party' ward at Aljunied GRC.

The NEA said that operators of trade fairs must obtain a permit from the NEA to organise one, to ensure they can meet concerns over issues like food hygiene, safety and noise control.

However, on April 1, the penalty was made 10 times harsher - from a maximum fine of $1,000, this was increased 10-fold to $10,000.

The penalty was raised after the fracas with the Worker's Party over the Chinese New Year event which the NEA took issue with.

After AHPETC was found guilty on Friday, the NEA turned its attention on another operator which held an event at the AHPETC.

The operator will be sentenced on December 24, just before Christmas.

Looks like this might not be a season to be merry.

Should have gone whole hog and conducted a massive constituency carnival instead because the AGC actually DEFENDS the MOST outrageous, outlandish/ audacious criminal activities: only the lesser criminal ones (small fish) are prosecuted:
