A 3 rm flat at 635 sq ft or the size of 5 car parks and costing nearly a million dollars hits the front page of ST. This is smaller than a 3 rm HDB flat. But this is quality living for Sinkies. Sinkies just need a little getting use to, and if the media or some clever people were to tell them this is quality living, they will soon believe it. And soon a long queue will be formed for such quality flats. And a lot of talented ideas were incorporated into the shoe boxes to make sure that the quality of life will not be affected. The higher price is for the ingenius ideas that were built into the box.

From this example, it is evident that the Gahment is very compassionate - it gives you a choice. It gives you the choice to own the same size flat with 3 bedrooms at only a fraction of the price.

It is easy to calculate how much gahment subsidises HDB flats for their citizens. That's what is meant by an "inclusive society" - affordable home ownership for all. In a few years time, the price of the flat would have doubled if not tripled. That's asset enhancement for the citizens.

$1m 635 sq ft private flats are meant for FTs who chose Singapore as their homes. Why you bother about the price - when you can have a bigger flat for a fraction of the price - unless you want to rub shoulders with them?

Problem is, many S'poreans want to rub shoulders with them while at the same time want to despise them and envious of them for liberal gahment policies which allow them to work and live here.

Look at the advertisements for these private developments - they only show pictures of angmohs or angmoh-looking couples and kids. Rarely do they advertise a Ahmad or Ah Beng family enjoying such new privately-built flats.

if there are people who want to buy, sure they will continue to build such crap apts.

But to foreigners, investment on property in SG is a sure profit 1......
