Chitchat Firm lied it interviewed Singaporeans so that it could hire foreigner

When doing a con, it is important to follow through the entire process. They should've conducted actual interviews.

If the government makes it so tough for firms to hire the best person for the job all that will happen is that the companies will move out of Singapore and set up their businesses where there is less red tape.

And where would that be within Southeast Asia? Given recent events, none of the other capital cities in SEA are a compelling choice for a regional HQ. Unless I'm mistaken and have drunk too much of the Pap kool-aid, I don't see the other capital cities being able to compete with us.

I think we have enough cachet to start getting tough on businesses that don't create sufficient jobs for locals. We should impose heftier income taxes on businesses that don't hire more than 50% locals.

A logistics company Ti2 Logistics had already pre-selected the foreigner and offered him the job, and did not conduct interviews with other applicants.

Ti2 Logistics tried to circumvent this by posting an advertisement on the portal on July 10 last year as a paper exercise. At least 22 local candidates responded.

But the company, having already selected Zhou prior to the posting, did not review or consider any of these applicants.

In a statement yesterday, Ms Christine Loh, the director of employment standards enforcement from MOM's labour relations and workplaces division, s

"It is unacceptable for employers to treat the job advertising requirement under the FCF as a paper exercise," she said.
How ironical. PAP or the so-called "Tripartite" has actually INVENTED this "paper exercise" called JOBSBank, a form of joke or excuses, to help companies bring in "foreign trash". Who do they care whether Singaporeans apply for the position thru Jobsbank, nobody knows and the companies can say all they wanted to justify the need for foreign trash after putting up a fake ads in Jobsbank as part of work pass requirements. Besides, you can still see the same logistic company putting up their ads again, in Jobs bank. Another show, another loopholes to be exploited by the same burger and you call the "harsh" punishment a deterence factor?

If the company is bent on hiring foreigners...they can go through the act of interviewing 100 Singaporeans but still find them all unsuitable and end up hiring an FT.

Productivity at its best and meritocracy well practised.
