KUALA LUMPUR: One or more condominium units at Tiffani Kiara in Mont Kiara were engulfed in flames last night.

The fire was spotted around 8.30pm, with thick smoke billowing from one of the units, visible from afar.

As of midnight, there was no confirmation of casualties.

Details remain sketchy as authorities continue struggling to douse the raging fire.

It is learnt that several other units may have also caught fire, making it harder for firefighters to bring the situation under control.

However, witnesses claimed the affected unit appeared to be the only one burning, though the blaze left visible burn marks and ashen patches on the outer walls of the building.

Several roads leading to the condominium were lined with vehicles as curious onlookers stopped to watch.

Multiple fire engines were seen entering the area, though the exact number could not be confirmed.

Residents were not seen gathered outside the building, and it remains unclear whether an evacuation was carried out.

Electricity on the immediate floors above and below the burning unit appeared to have been cut off, with those levels in complete darkness.

Further details on the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are being verified pending an official statement from the Fire and Rescue Department.
