A Fire broke out at the Ang Mo Kio Grassroots club this afternoon at about 5:30pm.
SCDF were deployed quickly to the scene and the fire was put out by 6:10pm. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
It is understood that the fire started from a kitchen located on the third floor at a shark fin restaurant located there.
The black smoke rose high above the club and it could be seen from the Yio Chu Kang MRT platform nearby.
The clubhouse there hosts banquets and meetings and has many facilities especially for members including a gym and a theatrette.
