FINAL: Tony Tan elected with 35.19%

No fucking big deal!
The oppositions did it with 40% without backings from clans,unions,associations..etc

Who the hell cares about Nicole Seah.

She is a 24 year old girl. She is a fad. Unless she can give people good reason to take her seriously as a politician, she will just become yesterday's news in 2016. PAP can roll out Sharon Au (or to illustrate my point, Fiona Xie) to take her place as the poster girl of local politics.

What is more important is that we the voters take a long hard look at ourselves.

I would find it quite hard :p
to resist voting for Fiona Xie.

LOL in this case if both Dr Tans get heart attack then TJS will be President since he did not lose his deposit.

There should have been a run off election with a finals between Tony and Tan Cheng Bok.

As things are now, shouldn't Tan Cheng Bok be the VICE PRESIDENT in case Tony were to suffer a fatal heart attack?

But still ended up with an government who the majority 60% wants but a president who 65% of the voters do not want. Freakish result.

No fucking big deal!

A win is a win is a win.

Doesn't matter whether its 2 votes, 72 votes, 7200 votes or 72000 votes.

After full time and 2 hours of injury time, Tony Tan has won. We can relook and reinvestigate his winning margin later. But he has won.

Whether a 0.34% victory can be considered a real victory or not.. is another thing altogether.

This is going to result in hell because 65% of the country will be left with a President who they can't stand for the next 6 years. It's not like if TCB won with 35%, because at least some of the remaining 65% would be able to tolerate him. I can assure you that the 65% who didn't vote for Tony Tan are going to be VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED to his Presidency and he is not going to have any moral legitimacy whatsoever.

I have mentioned before he will be a yellow prataman, hated and disrespected by many. I pity him. He will have to serve 6 long years knowing 65% despised him.
