The country is in the middle of nowhere and with less than 1 million people and they won their first olympic medal and its gold in a breath taking display by trashing UK in the Rubgy sevens finals. Its about tradition and a commitment.

Are there any newly minted Fujiins in the Team, if newly minted no count.

Fijians are known for their bulldozing skills…wouldn't be surprised if jonah lomu was a fijian turned kiwi.

In Rugby Sevens, space is abundant and therefore speed, skills and nimbleness is more in demand than in full rugby with 15 players. Japan was doing very well in Olympics despite their smaller size. They lost the bronze to Rugby giants South Africa.

Fiji people got nothing better to do than play with an oval ball. That why they poor and we rich! You want rich or you want a few fake metal trinkets?

Yeah truly great!

A remarkable achievement for a small Country, PAP pigs shld learn frm em.

Fiji government learned their trade from the PAP. Fiji is run by a dictator.

It is sinkies that should learn from the Fijians that passion is more than just driving a Merc and making lots of money.

How many sinkies would approve of their Children spending their all their free time on some stupid sport.

It's not a stupid sport (unlike cycling which is individualistic) and I would be proud of any kid who takes up team sports because that's how to build character.

I'm not talking about "taking part". I'm talking living the dream.

And cycling is a team sport in every sense of the word. If you don't know that you obviously don't understand cycling.

At professional level nobody can win a bike race without a team. The person would have to be 30% stronger than everybody else in the race... something that is absolutely impossible at the top level of the sport.

I can understand why Frank Banimarama initiated the cup. He wanted to take the country away from the Indians who are close to 50% of the population and looking after their own communal interest. And look what the Fiji Indians did - they asked the Indian Govt to intervene which more or less showed their loyalty.

Okay understood.

They do. There are many rich sinkie kids playing rugby. There are always exceptions, but my own experiences tell me that it's more for the prestige than true love of the game. Typical sinkie mentality. That's why will not be even a bit surprised if our international world record score loss to hong kong (!) over 20 years ago still stands.
