‘Vixen, go and die’: Woman fined for harassing husband’s suspected lover, vandalising her condo unit
SINGAPORE — A 53-year-old woman was fined S$10,800 on Monday (Feb 28) after trespassing at the condominium complex of another woman whom she suspected to be her husband’s lover, spray-painting the woman’s shoes and scratching the condo apartment door.
Xu Wenying also left a piece of paper with the words “Vixen, steal someone’s husband, go and die” written on it in Chinese.
The Singaporean had earlier pleaded guilty to one charge each of criminal trespass and committing mischief. Another charge of harassment was taken into consideration for sentencing.
The court heard that the incident happened on Jan 25 last year.
Xu, who was unemployed at the time, suspected that Ms Wang Hemei, 47, was having an affair with her husband and hired a private investigator to verify her suspicions.

Through the private investigator, Xu got to know Ms Wang’s residential address. Court documents did not reveal if Xu’s husband was indeed cheating on her.That day, Xu went to the other woman’s condo building in Sembawang while armed with a can of spray paint and the piece of paper.
At about 3pm, she loitered outside the condo and got in through the side gate by tailgating a condo resident. Guests were supposed to register at the guardhouse and the security guards would call the resident to verify the guests’ identities, the court heard.
Xu’s actions were caught on a closed-circuit television camera.
Once she entered the condo premises, she went to Ms Wang’s apartment and began spray-painting the gate and door. She also spray-painted several pairs of shoes placed outside the unit and used her car keys to scratch the door.
The total damage caused amounted to S$5,434.

When Ms Wang and her son got back home, they discovered what had happened and called the police.After Xu was placed under investigation by the police, she initially refused to compensate Ms Wang because she viewed the damaged items as those bought with her husband’s money.
Xu eventually made full restitution on July last year.
For mischief, she could have been fined or jailed for up to two years, or punished with both. For criminal trespass, she could have been jailed for up to three months or fined up to S$1,500, or both.
