'Vixen go and die': Woman spray painted unit of husband's alleged mistress

SINGAPORE — A woman who suspected her husband was having an affair trespassed into the house of his alleged mistress to spray paint her gate and walls.
Xu Wenying, 54, also left the alleged mistress a note written in Mandarin, saying, “Vixen, steal someone’s husband, go and die”.
Xu pleaded guilty to a count each of trespass and committing mischief on Thursday (11 November). One count of using the threatening words to cause alarm under the Protection from Harassment Act will be taken into consideration for her sentencing.
The judge called for a suitability report for mandatary treatment order to assess Xu’s suitability for a treatment order in lieu of jail time. Xu’s psychiatric condition was not revealed in court.
Xu, who was unemployed, hired a private investigator after she suspected her husband of having an affair. Through the private investigator, Xu came to learn of the 47-year-old victim’s address. The victim lived in a condominium.
On 25 January this year in the afternoon, the victim and her son left their condominium unit.
About two hours later, Xu loitered outside the condominium building and tailgated a resident through the side gate. Her trespass was captured on CCTV camera. Xu then proceeded to the victim’s unit and took out a spray paint can to spray paint the victim’s gate and door. She also spray painted several pairs of shoes and used her car key to scratch the door of the unit.
CCTV cameras captured her leaving the note at the unit and her other actions.
At about 5pm, the victim and her son returned to their unit to find their unit vandalised. They also found the note with the offensive words. The son informed the condominium's guard house, and called the police.
Xu had caused more than $5,400 in damages.
When Xu was investigated, she refused to pay compensation as she felt that the damaged items had been bought with her husband’s money. She later made full restitution on 29 July.
She will return to court for her sentence on 17 December.
