Shopkeepers, shoppers and mosques notice a drop in number of beggars this Ramadan - See more at: http://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore-news/fewer-beggars-better-business-ramadan#sthash.TU077XHO.dpuf

Every year during Ramadan, areas such as Geylang Serai and Arab Street usually see an influx of beggars. But this year, the situation seems to have improved. Shopkeepers, mosques and shoppers have noticed a significant drop in the number of beggars. “These beggars sometimes scare my customers away,” said a vendor at the Ramadan bazaar in Geylang Serai, who wanted to be known only as Madam Faridah. Another vendor, Mr Hanafi Jaffar, said that during Ramadan a few years ago, beggars would constantly go up to him and ask for “zakat money”. “Three or four years ago, it was quite bad. Then some of them got caught by officers,” said the 61-year-old, who has been doing business in Geylang Serai since the late 70s. Get the full story in our print edition (July 4).

You need to thank PAP for doing such a great job in managing our economy that there are much fewer beggars around. Lots of good jobs and GST rebates for sinkies.

Yes!...you pay NEA ( 'protection money'), an annual fees of $100+ to sell tissues, some years back, a Mat with license , boasted he could make a few thousands dollars a month selling tissues. This will out him in an income bracket of $60,000 annually, in which IRAS must investigate his tax returns....anyway..all these types, are famous for BOHONG.

If you want I hand hold your hand & take you on a tour of all the libraries ( public) around the island & see, how many "Beggars" are hogging the spaces there when it opens in the morning.....especially now the weather is so humid & many PMET are out of work....

What is not seen on the surface, does not mean that, there is no diseases in the 'body'....when it does reaches to the surface & rot ....it will be too late...that is what you & the 70% refuses to see or acknowledge...

Go take a look...do a visual survey.....go to the heartland's centrals....& count how many tissues sellers, or just sitting around, "begging" for money....or how many people with "instruments" blowing a tune, blowing it out of tune..."begging" for money?...
