I AM writing to ask the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to explain the rationale for having Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges on Saturdays after 4pm at Nicoll Highway.
When you drive past the gantry, you will see maybe four or five cars on the road at any one time. This sort of negates having the gantry on at all. It does not serve the purpose of smoothing out any traffic as there is none.
Can the LTA not see this?

Kok Khim, don't be stupid. ERP is not for controlling traffic! If it is, why our roads still so jammed?!

If u had spent $60k on a car, will a $2 ERP charge stop u from utilizing it?

this shows that ERP is working well. shud set up more gantries and increase the rates.

Weekdays ERP pays for the Ministers salary and bonuses. Weekend ERPs pays for the overseas trip and holidays.
