Poor old Fergie must be thinking what the world is coming to.
In a world where he used to dominate, now he must deal with the antics of chicken sellers from India! :D
Those of us who follow football know that the release clause is usually a "minimum" fee release clause. But it's also the case that the selling club will let the player go at that price, since it is deemed that it's set high enough for the club to sell. If it's the norm to negotiate higher, than in future, just set the clause at 1 pound and bid up to 100 million pounds ok? Specially for Venky.

Article from ESPN Soccernet

Phil Jones' move to Manchester United from Blackburn Rovers has been put on hold by a dispute about the player's valuation - and ESPNsoccernet can reveal a growing row between the two Premier League clubs.

ESPNsoccernet has learned that Blackburn value Jones far in excess of the £16 million offered by Manchester United to trigger what the champions believe is a release clause.

A Rovers insider told ESPNsoccernet that the player is "the nearest thing to a Tony Adams or John Terry" and that, in the view of Rovers, and their advisers put him in the £25 million category.

Unusually, the player has already passed his medical and agreed personal terms with United, which normally means the clubs have agreed the fee but ESPNsoccernet has discovered that a clause in Jones' contract only triggers the player's ability to discuss a potential move with a club who offers £16 million rather than fully complete the deal. Rovers' hierachy's stance is that the deal is by no means done and they will hold out for more cash.

So Jones has been able to agree terms with Manchester United and go through the medical - even though the two clubs have failed to reach agreement. With Jones already believed to have turned down other moves to Liverpool and Arsenal, the move still looks likely to end at Old Trafford but the quibble over the fee may stall it for some time. United are yet to comment officially about the deal.

The Blackburn Venky owners knows nuts about football...

These Dosai prats from India are playing hardball tactics against Fergie..

Phil Jones is a money making machine for them... but if Fergie decides to pull out of the deal, then the joke will be on Venky..

Indians from India.....well, we all know what shameless opportunistic lot they are especially if it concerns $$$$...

bunch-a-jester united cannot win against spanish opponent. uefa final against galacticos of real madrid, when beckham and zidane played, they were similarly out played.

very shameful to see one sided matches in final. it seems like the bookies bought off some united players.

When the ah neh char bor was asked in an interview why they appointed youth team coach Steve Keen as the new manager after Sam Allardyce was sacked, she put her finger to her forehead and said "Because he can think."

I nearly fell off my chair laughing when she said that. :D

Sam Allardyce’s hopes of being reunited with Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan appear to be subsiding.

West Ham’s opening offer for the influential midfielder amounted to just £1.5million, but Newcastle have not ruled out selling Nolan if any club is prepared to meet their £4m valuation, which has alerted London clubs QPR and Fulham.

Stoke and West Brom are also monitoring Nolan’s situation.

Although Allardyce and Nolan share the same agent as Andy Carroll – Mark Curtis – it is unlikely to influence the 28-year-old, who is reluctant to either leave Newcastle or drop down into the _Championship.
