<!-- end left side bar --> <!-- story content : start --> A MAN was charged in court on Monday with causing the death of a woman pedestrian and injuring her husband by doing a rash act along Upper Thomson Road. Ng Jui Chuan, 33, a marketing manager, allegedly caused the death of Madam Mok Sow Loon by failing to have proper control of his car which veered towards the left and hit the 76-year-old woman who was walking on the left side of the road on Nov 8 last year.

He is also accused of causing hurt to Mr Wee Song Meng, 76, by doing an act so rashly as to endanger life at 6.48am that day. The third charge accuses him of colliding onto the right side of a stationary car parked outside a house. Ng, who has a lawyer, is out on police bail. His case has been fixed for a pre-trial conference on May 10. If convicted of the most serious charge of causing death by a rash act, he can be jailed for up to five years and/or fined.
