Family shocked, woman distraught

Her family feared that she was killed in a car accident when she didn't contact them after leaving on a business trip.

What they didn't know was that Noor Atiqah M Lasim had been arrested for drug trafficking in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

That was more than two years ago - on Jan 5, 2009.

Last Friday, Noor Atiqah, now 27, was sentenced to death by the Shah Alam High Court for trafficking 342.1g of heroin and 30.3g of monoacethylmorphine.

Anyone caught with 15g or more of these two drugs is presumed to be trafficking under Malaysian law.
