The Colosseum: Emblem of Rome

the Colosseum is hugely impressive. It stands as a glorious but troubling monument to Roman imperial power and cruelty. Inside it, behind those serried ranks of arches and columns, Romans for centuries cold-bloodedly killed literally thousands of people whom they saw as criminals, as well as professional fighters and animals.

Sad to look at it, the recent " Cage " of F1 remind me of the Roman colosseum. Like the olden days, the rich and Famous had their fun inside the colosseum. There is a distance differences between who is inside and who is outside.

Now in Singapore, it seem that the whole of the city is belonging to the elite/rich and famous for that particular days. All the Poor and plain people who cant afford to attend or see the event had to be totally " Shut" out. Millionares and Billionare will be invited to grace the event. International stars and celebrities will come and add light and flashes for the event. But what happen outside of the " Colosseum " is the normal singaporean. We had to endure the increase taxi fare, expected Jam packed traffic and etc...except some of the contractor, may i know which singaporean company had benefited from this Event?

This is a nice quote.
True is , the peasent is all suffering outside the " Colosseun" but the higher authority just bring in different entertainment from around the world to entertain themselves.
If you talking of booming the economy of singapore around the city, how about the other retailer?
Making the city " Nice " at the outer layer is not going to solve the basic problem.
