Former transport minister Raymond Lim has joined the Singapore unit of Swire Group, a London-based conglomerate with interests in shipping, aviation and agriculture.
John Swire & Sons (South-east Asia) said on Monday in a statement that it has appointed him as a senior adviser to 'provide both focus and expertise to (its) efforts to develop and broaden the range of investments in the region'.
Mr Lim, 52, has been a Member of Parliament since 2001 and has held various ministerial appointments over the years. His most recent were as transport minister and second minister for foreign affairs, which he held until May.
Though he has stepped down from the Cabinet, he remains as an MP for East Coast GRC.
