A delivery manager of retailer Courts who took bribes from three transport contractors was jailed for 10 months today.

Andrew Ong Tiong Chiew, 36, was also ordered to pay a penalty of $631,200 equivalent to the total amount of bribes he obtained from Courts' three main transport contractors.

Courts outsourced its delivery service to S.K. Yap Engineering, Ding Fong Enterprises and Chanroyal Logistics.

Ong, now unemployed, pleaded guilty to 15 charges of corruption involving $244,000 with the remaining 59 offences involving $387,200 taken into consideration. He took bribes between May 2008 and March last year.
