Ex-Courts exec charged with receiving $631k in bribes

A former delivery manager of Courts furniture store was charged on Tuesday with 74 counts of corruption involving a total of $631,200.
Andrew Ong Tiong Chiew, 35, allegedly received bribes from three men as inducements to advance their companies' business interests with Courts.
Between May 2008 and January 2011, he allegedly obtained a total of $274,000 from Mr Yap Sze Kam, managing director of S.K. Yap Engineering, on 33 occasions.
He is also said to have obtained a total of $275,200 from Mr Low Tian Teck, a director of Ding Fong Enterprises, over a three-year period; and $82,000 from Mr Raveen C, a director of Chanroyal Logistics, between June 2009 and March 1, 2011.
