From the early telemarketing call i receive in the morning trying to sell some insurance product, to the salesperson working in G2000, the technical support guy i called at starhub hotline, the banking helpline, the lady who do my boyzilla waxing, the salesgirl at Isetan, the waitress at Swensen's and the cashier at Haagen Dazs, all pinoys.....

hate their accents...

hate their accents...

Our children are raised by them, our kids shares a school with them, our young adults work with them...

Don't be surprise that 10 years from now, every Singaporean speaks like that. Tagalog is the new Singaporean dialect.

Welcome them wholeheartedly. They didn't steal Singaporean jobs.

As an employer I can tell you many Singaporeans don't want these jobs or they are not appreciative of the job.

After training, they will job hop for $50 more a month or if supervisor says them one sentence.

Better hire PRC and Pinoy if got the ratio

BTW Starhub Raffles Place got quite a few chiobu FT talent

Xenophobic again?

We are also descends of FTs. So I think is no big deal!!

:D

Is a role play, you fool!!

:o

It's a comedy sketch in Singlish and the accent is spot on. When sinkies say "coke", they pronounce it as "cock" just like the pinoys.

You don't have to take my word for it though. You can do your own research.

I wonder who zapped you. Not that it mattered to you.

To be fair most Singaporeans do not speak English well and English speakers everywhere sometimes finds difficulty in understanding them. They tend to swallow their words, do not roll their "r's" and they many times their sentence construction is wrong. So to our ears, Filipinos may speak different but that is the beauty of English as she is spoken by many nationalities. Just accept the differences and also accept that ours is not so great too. Many McDonald's outlets hires Filipinos, some as managers, like Changi Airport had one before who has now gone to Canada. Obviously, Singapore is not the best country to work in nor the best country to migrate to, and these FT's are not that crazy about Singapore. We just have a open door policy whereas other countries are more stricter. For low paying wages, Singaporeans are choosey to say the least. I have been employing both FT's and locals and the attitude of Singaporeans in low paying jobs are that they are taking the jobs because they are unable to find one that pays them well. At a drop of the hat, they will switch to another or they prefer staying home than working. FT's on the other hand has no option. Work and send money home or go back to their country with no hope of getting a job. Whilst we cannot entirely blame Singaporeans because they need a certain level of pay as the cost of living is high, yet we must also look at their bad attitude. They have low education yet they expect a reasonable pay without wanting to learn and advance in their career. If they are hardworking and eager to learn, most employers will reward them plus keep them as they will be of value to the company. It is not that emplyers do not want to hire Singaporeans. I have many examples of these Singaporeans with such mindsetm and it has caused me lots of headaches employing locals. Sometimes it is not worth the effort to support locals because in return you get so much problems plus ungratefulness from them.
