Great article and completely I agree. I used to work in one of the big 4 accounting firms in the Advisory Practice until recently. It is absolutely ridiculous - out of 30 people in one of the service lines, there are only 2 Singaporeans. What is worst is that the 2 Singaporeans are of junior grades doing all the shit work, the foreigners are all higher grades and earning loads. I've actually worked with some of the foreigners and I'm telling you, they don't know anything - all they know how to do is bullshit their way through things and ask the Singaporeans to do the hard work while they take all the credit. And they definitely protect their own ilk. The Partner in charge is also a foreigner and since he took office, he has brought in even more non-local "talent". Foreigners create good jobs for Singaporeans? I think not - the Singaporeans earn the least by virtue of their shitty grades. The situation is already quite bad in the firm I was in - and the firm is huge, it employs over 2000 people in Singapore alone. Can you imagine how many worthless foreigners are employed in all the Big 4 accounting firms combined? They are definitely not worth the money that they earn - so much for "Singaporeans come first".
