I have had a couple of projects in the UAE in the last few years and concluded that the only reason why foreigners would want to move there is money. So i cry foul on that german. He moved there for a higher paid job, that's it.

Personally i don't think i would ever move to the middle east, unless my life depends on it.
Crazy heat, sand everywhere, serious lack activities that suit my families lifestyle. No thanks. The people are very friendly though, gotta love arab hospitality.
