Those people lining up at the atm at month end are not just checking their accounts. They are withdrawing money for usage when their salary is credited.

It's strange when you see 20 people lining up at the POSB/DBS atm while there are 2 people at the OCBC/UOB atm.

As for individuals doing multiple transactions at atms, there's nothing to stop them. It's up to their own values whether they should do multiple transactions. Of course, most of them will not think there's anything wrong, even if there are 20 people in the queue.

It is not only the multiple transaction thing, that is a pain, when the queue is 20 or 25 long. The worst is you have those who are updatingtheir passbook at the cash deposit machines, when the passbook updating machine is forever out of order. The worse is, they update not one, but sometimes 4 passbooks...and when it reaches your turn, the machine over worked, shuts down.

That is why I cringe, when I am forced to do banking transaction with DBS or POSB...best bank in Asia... ha ha ha ha:p

in singapore, do your banking with malaysian banks like maybank or cimb. in malaysia, open account with singapore banks like ocbc or uob. guarantee no q and no crowd.

Although it would be interesting to know why he had so much cash. :p

In the second example, maybe nobody said anything, but it would have been interesting to know if anybody allowed him to go first. This guy who formed his own queue is a damn fool, in addition to being an arsehole with no sense of social etiquette. The purpose of a single queue is to make it even fairer for people who arrive at the atm earlier, such that they are not hampered if they happen to stand in the queue behind an inconsiderate user.

If Singapore left only 1 bank as suggested by MM Lee, then super jialat than now. Luckily still have UOB / OCBC atms around.

My best guess was that the guy was cashing in his business' earnings for the month.

In my second experience, when the indian fella was ranting and shouting and kicking up a big fuss; every one behind kept silent and said nothing. So when the guy behind me was next in line, the mofo simply stood beside him to form the 2nd queue.

In my opinion, if the indian fella didn't like having a single queue, he should've gone to the back of the queue, *and then* start telling people to queue *beside him* to start 2 queues.

He didn't look mental to me; just someone who is in a hurry (like we all aren't!).

Of course I did think of reasoning with him at that point of time; but he was the kind of fella who didn't take to reasoning.

Their machines are often out of order & crowded, unless of course you can wake at 6am to do banking transaction. I just hate it when I have do bank in money for business transaction with DBS/POSB.

Living breathing ASIA?..little wonder that they still have living breathing customers, looking at the queues at their ATM's/CDM/ counters...especially payday...

My friend, with so many foreigners in Sinkieland, you will soon either burst a blood vessel or have a heart attack if you try to correct their behaviour everyday. There was a chance for Sinkieland to develop a civil society but that has come and gone for many years now. Anyway, this is just a lesser mortals' problem and the lesser mortals seem perfectly happy to accept the situation. I have already given up hope on Sinkieland as a country.

PS. Watch out for foreign traitors like Char lAtan in your midst who will kowtow to the foreigners just to earn a few bucks. He will probably sell his big-fuck grandfather off if it suits his purpose.
