When I applied for jobs in UK & Australia, their govt depts and even the companies I applied to, actually contacted my references and NUS to verify my CV, my results & my experience.

I didn’t know until my references (ex-bosses) told me they kene overseas phone interviews, and they said they were really interrogated — how long they know me, in what capacity they know me, what were my job scopes, name 1 or 2 incidents that highlighted exceptional capability on my part, what high-value projects I did, what qualifications I had, etc etc.

Someone in NUS admin whom I know also informed me that the UK & Oz authorities contacted them to confirm my NUS degree & results true or not.

I also had to produce an original certificate from SPF/MHA to prove my crime-free & conviction-free status to both UK & Australia immigration depts.
