Just received an email from PayPal, a receipt that I have made a purchase. It scared the shit out of me. I checked my account and realized its a hoax as no transaction was made illegally. What do people get out of such emails?

(by the way the sender is [email protected] but when double click the email address the real addres is shown - [email protected])

This is a auto payment. Deposit fee required by SBF to be a Moderator. Leongsam is Paulo Anici. :D

It's a spam/phishing email... designed to fool you into thinking that it's legitimate so you'll enter your personal details. :D

In my spare email account, I have also received numerous 'Hi, I saw your profile on Facebook and I think you are cute, let's meet' and 'Warning, your Diablo 3 account will soon be terminated' emails. I don't have Facebook nor do I play Diablo 3. Nice try, spammers.

Thanks laksaboy - if its about Facebook then I not worry cos I got no Facebook account, afraid people link my Facebook to people I know and I'll get into deepshit you know what I mean? Also don't like dates to take photo together cos sure will post into Facebook. What's wrong with these guys, why can't they just take photos of food and post in Sammyboy?

This is a serious form of malware.
Better do this:

1. Scan your device (laptop, PC, tablet)
2. Change your email password
3. Change your Paypal password

TankU gansta! Appreciate man!

This is very recent new tactic. Happen in Feb 2013 only.

You should help Paypal be reporting it.

Example similar to yours:

https://www.paypal-community.com/t5...I-just-got-this-fake-paypal-email/td-p/615540

Report to help Paypal to keep it safe from phishing and frausters.

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=xpt/Help/general/TopQuestion4-outside

Do not click any links in the email. It will compromise your PC, etc and your Paypal password, Credit Card details, anything....

Here is what the email looks like: http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg47/s_mkheidze/temp.jpg

LONG LIVE SDP!!
LONG LIVE OPPOSITION!!
