30 Oct 2025: A Li Auto Mega electric MPV reportedly caught fire in China. The blaze spread rapidly, but the driver managed to escape unharmed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. While this case didn't involve door malfunctions, the incident highlights broader safety concerns about electric vehicles that rely on electronic door releases during emergencies.

Lithium is highly flammable. I will wait for solid state batteries before making the plunge.
Just wait for the development of the Sodium-ion Battery to replace the Lithium-ion Battery, which is the main power source for EVs now.
The Sodium-ion battery currently is not popular because of its lower 'power density', which is under vigorous R&D attention.
