Election The Movie

Who were the actors in "Throwdown"? What was the movie about?

Overheard also starred "Da S" Barbie Hsu right?

Throwdown - Louis Koo, Aaron kwok & Tony leong kar fai.
watch the movie, u wont be disappointed.

Overheard heroine is Zhang Jingchu. Same gal who acted in Protege.

Did anyone catch "Eye In The Sky" starring Simon Yam and Tony Leung Kar Fai which was just shown on channel 8?
Excellent movie wasn't it? As good as any hollywood or western movie, HK's very own French connection.

It is a little known fact that Simon yam's real life brother is(was?) actually a high ranking anti-triad officer in the HK police force.
I heard johnny to's PTU series is quite highly rated by critics. I've only watched the first show and i would like to see the rest for myself.

Was PTU series ever shoen on spore cinema? i watch the first PTU movie on starhub. i like it very much so search the internet for the canto version so i stumbled upon the whole series. While all the movies in the series are not directly link but the main characters are the basically the same. The series is about HK moral and racial issue both in the triads, police force and soicety at the whole. Very nice, will try to buy the whole series when go HK. Canto version much better than mandarin version that were dubbed for PRC market.

I just watched Mad Detective. By far the best by Johnnie To. And Kelly Lin was ****ing hot, hence my avatar.

I also caught Election I and II. I prefer Part I to II, no thanks to Koo as the co-lead.

Here's a flash link to the haunting theme track of Election if you like it >>>

Eye in the Sky was not directed by To, I gave it a miss.

Johnnie To was the producer of Eye In The Sky. I'm sure he had a lot of input in it. You should try to watch it, it's really good.
The director was long time screenwriter Yau Nai Hoi who was making his directorial debut.
Agree Election I was better, don't really like Louis Koo either. He's the HK version of Keanu Reeves.

EITS got no chio Kelly Lin, didn't sustain my attention. Maybe I'll try again next time to get past the initial lull.

A Johnnie To directed-movie has a special feel to its cinematography that captivates me, esp with urban Hong Kong run-down streets as backdrop and Kelly Lin is a sure-fire eye candy. :D

Decided to watch a Johnnie To movie. Chose "Sparrow" aka Wen Que (2008).

It was a visual treat. Johnnie at its cinematographic and nostalgic best.

Seeing Kelly Lin running around with her neh neh bouncing wrapped in luxurious fashion was delicious.

She stole the hearts of 5 pickpockets and mine, almost, again.

Not a must watch but a decadent indulgence for Johnnie's fans. :D

I'm going to youtube later to see if I can catch any videos of Kelly's neh nehs. :)

Btw, have you watched Running Out Of Time I? No neh nehs since the female lead is the beautiful but flat chested Yoyo Mung, but excellent performance from Andy Lau.

I neh watched ROOT I.

I watched Part II though, a couple of times. You guess it! Got Kelly Lin as the lead! :D

The bicycle racing scene in ROOT II was epic in my view. A simple game of "police catch thief" epitomised. Playful and carefree. Sparrow's finale has a similar tone to it, but way more indulgent.
