I think she's pretending to defy them, to fool anti-PAP Singaporeans into thinking that there's hope for the opposition parties, so that they bother to vote for those parties on the next Polling Day; and then end up losing, so that the PAP can accuse the losers of being "sore losers" or "bad sports" if they dare to complain.Actually what she said makes alot of sense, is she defying her political paymasters?
That has been the status quo for the past few decades.
