1. Are there more real-life medical doctors on EDMW or Sammyboy forum?
2. Got such thing as "canned caixin" meh?
Dear Doctor,
I'm typing this out because I am afraid I don't know what to say when I see you at the clinic:
Over the past year, I have been experiencing a weak stomach with frequent symptoms of indigestion. Basically if I eat too greasy stuffs such as char kway teow, fried rice with lup cheong, bak chang rice dumplings, etc, I will feel nauseous and want to puke. By right, since I know I cannot eat such foods, I should just stay away, but the problem is that I'm not the one doing the cooking and tabaoing.
I give you example of what works best for me: a bowl of century egg meat porridge, a bowl of macaroni soup, sweet potato porridge with canned caixin, these are the sort of things that gives me the least issues.
My mother and aunt ask me to go see the doctor because they claim that my constitution is too weak, at my age of 44 I should be able to eat a lot more things without issues, but I argue that I was never the fittest guy throughout my life. I was brought up sickly and I always have a lot of problems with my health.
What has worked for me lately is to buy a bottle of Gaviscon liquid and consume one spoonful before dinner. I don't have gastric pains, I also don't have acid reflux, my appetite is supposedly quite good because as I type now I actually feel hungry, it's just indigestion. I have tried TCM (read: Poh Chih Pills etc), and my body also responds quite favourably to them too.
Now, the problem about my indigestion is that once it happens, I feel anxious and feel like puking, and my anxiety disorder sinks in, and I end up feeling that I need to take my IMH prescription. Because I don't like to self-medicate, I wanted a professional opinion from a qualified doctor, I don't know what's wrong with my body because it could be stomach cancer or colorectal cancer, I don't know you see. I don't mind doing some tests just to be sure, but I'm not the doctor here that's why I needed to speak to someone other than ChatGPT.
Please help. Thank you.
