[h=2]Dwindling native citizens serve NS to sacrifice for growing new citizens[/h]

Number of new citizens added last year was 15,777. This figure is extracted from news article published by Prime Minister’s office:
http://www.pmo.gov.sg/content/pmosi...to_new_citizensmakemoreefforttointegrate.html
The growth of Singaporean citizens (includes new citizens and native citizens) last year was 27,900. This figure can be calculated from government statistics: http://www.singstat.gov.sg/pubn/popn/population2012b.pdf
It can be calculated that the growth of native citizens who need to sacrifice for NS is 12,123 (27,900-15,777). Please note that this was a year when PM office actually reassured Singaporeans that annual growth of new citizens has dropped to 15,777 compared to past years when Singapre added between 17,334 and 20,513 new citizens from 2005 to 2010. This means that the problem was far worse from 2005 to 2010.
If we extrapolate this trend into the future, we will have a minority of native citizens being asked to make NS sacrifices while new citizens can sit aside and reap the benefits, gain job advantage as we make our sacrifices. I would like to ask fellow Singaporeans, including new citizens, is it fair that a growing minority of native citizens need to make sacrifices for new citizens who enjoy equal (or near-equal) privileges?
I would like to ask the government, how are you going to get the new citizens to compensate to native citizens for our sacrifices to NS? Year in year out, we have native citizens dying in the line of duty (‘NSMan dies in freak accident during In-Camp Training‘).
I accept that these are casualties of war which is very hard to avoid despite the best of efforts. However, is it fair that the casualties be borne entirely by native citizens?
Now, I ask everyone, including bystanders, to be the judge. Is it fair for the status quo to continue? Is there any other country in the world that treats its own native citizens in such a manner? Why should I vote for a government that puts in place policies that is not in my interest?
Hello, our dearest government. I have to admit you have certainly been more engaging and more willing to listen to feedback since the last GE. However, please stop putting all the blame on us and push the sacrifices to us. Stop talking as if you stand on holier ground about social unity and the need to treat foreigners better and welcome newcomers more big-heartedly. Please admit your own mistakes first! How do you expect us to accept newcomers when we are the ones making the most sacrifices (NS) while they reap the benefits from our sacrifice? More of them coming means we have to be subjected to more unfairness.
You talk about social divisiveness. Since your representative seems to place a high value on self-reflection even when ingrates like Sun Xu call us dogs, please do some self-reflection yourselves on this issue. Self-reflect on the source of the social divisiveness. Is it due to your policies like “NS for native Singaporeans, scholarships for foreigners” the cause of the social divisiveness? Is it due to your uncalibrated influx of foreigners? Isn’t it common sense that when you bring in people of a different culture in such large numbers in such a short time that the locals become near minority with basic infrastructure breaking down, you are asking for social divisiveness (or breakdown)?
It is a miracle if Singaporean society is not divided after what you have done. When all you care is hitting your KPIs, getting your fat bonuses and undeserved promotion without a single care for the greater good of native Singaporeans, the only way we can respond is through the ballot box. That was what we did in 2011 but we will repeat the same actions in 2016 but your policies still discriminate against us. If you think bringing in new citizens and maintaining this unfair NS status quo will win their votes, then we native citizens have to unite and vote according to our interests. To us, maintaining this status quo is treachery to native citizens.
Do not worry about native citizens treating foreigners and new citizens with disrespect. I believe native citizens are reasonable people. Foreigners will make use loopholes created by a government who only cares about hitting their selfish KPIs. If I were them, I would have done the same and laugh at a stupid government. Of course, we native citizens know that our government is not stupid but simply too selfish in hitting their KPIs at all cost. Just look at the mis-allocated resources spent on Wayang shows and we know there most people in government are interested in doing the politically right thing than doing the really right thing.
To be blunt, I have no tolerance for self-serving ball-less ball-carriers in government. Please self-reflect on your own culture within the government and stem the number of SBB (self-serving ball-less ball-carriers) in the government. One VIP visit and everyone drop what they are doing to put on a good Wayang show. I will definitely not vote for any SBB (self-serving ball-less ball-carriers).
I have a solution for you. Either you change your KPIs to serve native citizens better or we will exercise our power through the ballot box or simply migrate to greener pastures. By the way, we won’t vent our anger on innocent foreigners and new citizens. Not to worry on that count because the real culprit is you. Stop that holier-than-thou talk because we are much smarter than that.
One last question to the government before I finish. How are you going to get the new citizens to compensate native citizens for our NS sacrifice?
Lastly, I call upon all native Singaporeans to unite on this critical issue because our Opposition looks quite useless so far on critical issues like this one.
