SINGAPORE: A motorist who was involved in a fatal accident along the Central Expressway (CTE) last August will be charged in court on Friday.

The 34-year-old driver faces charges for dangerous driving which resulted in four deaths, and driving under the influence of drugs.

Amend the traffic laws, lah. Apply stiffer punishment to any motorist who consumes alcohol or drug and drives. A mandatory jail term of at least six months for first offender. No use to suspend driving licence without jail term. Causing death to road users while under influence of alcohol or drug should be classified as manslaughter, an offence jailable of at least three years. No use to fine the road killers.

Nowadays, it is still common to see motorists driving with one hand while using mobile phones. Make it a mandatory jailable offence of least 3 months for using phone while driving. No use to suspend driving licence without jail time.

If safety of innocent road users is paramount, tough law is needed.

The driver deserve it.
New law should be implement.
Those caught using mobile phone should be punish as those beat red light or even heavy sentence.
Once caught will be in record for min 5 year. Repeated offender using phone while driving lisence should be revoked.

SINGAPORE: A motorist who was involved in a fatal accident along the Central Expressway (CTE) last August will be charged in court on Friday.

The 34-year-old driver faces charges for dangerous driving which resulted in four deaths, and driving under the influence of drugs.

In the early morning accident on 9 August last year, Singaporean Amron Ayoub, his Korean girlfriend Jamie Song, her parents and brother were travelling in a car when it broke down along the CTE towards Seletar Expressway, before the Yio Chu Kang exit.

The five of them got out of their vehicle and four of them were hit by another car.

Song, then aged 24, and her parents died on the spot, while her younger brother was unhurt.

Amron, then aged 23, was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital but succumbed to his injuries and died the next day.

The driver of the other car was arrested.

He faces up to five years' imprisonment for dangerous driving.

The penalty for driving under the influence of drugs is a maximum fine of $5,000, or up to six month's imprisonment. - CNA/de

My question is , is that a local sinkie or an FT?

If he is a sinkie, he is not deportable. If FTsh, kick him out of SG after the jail term. Any one who drives after consuming alcohol or drug is a danger to other road users. Revoking their driving licence is useless. There are many motorists on suspension still driving without licence.

Kim Jong Il must be damned proud of this boy for taking out some south koreans without firing a bullet.

Why dont we send him to PyongYang and ask them to release MH370 instead.
