In CCTV footage shared on social media, a car is seen stranded at a railway crossing, trapped between the tracks and an automatic barrier.

The driver is seen attempting to lift the barrier with the help of passers-by.

But when the car fails to move, he abandons the vehicle and runs to safety - moments before a passing train crashes into it.
