ANOTHER budget hotel in Singapore has been hauled up for vice activities within its premises.
Licensee of Dragon Hotel, Teo Eng Heng, was handed two charges by the court on Wednesday morning, the Shin Min Daily News reported.
According to the Chinese daily, the 41-year-old allegedly allowed prostitutes to use rooms in the hotel along Mosque Street at 11.45pm on February 9 and at midnight on April 24.
Just a week ago, budget chain Hotel 81 was taken to court for allowing prostitutes to operate at its Jiak Chuan Road and Jalan Besar branches.
Under the Hotels Licensing Regulation, licensees should not permit any person - whom he knows or has reason to believe is a prostitute - to occupy a room in the hotel or to frequent the premises.
First-time offenders face a fine up to $1,000 and could have their licenses cancelled or suspended by the court as well.
