SINGAPORE: The People's Action Party candidate for the Punggol East by-election, Dr Koh Poh Koon, said he intends to serve the single member constituency regardless of the election outcome.

Dr Koh made the statement in reply to a question from the media on whether he plans to stay on, given that he is involved in planning for the proposed community centre in Punggol.

Dr Koh said: "Regardless of what the outcome of the election is, residents still have needs and I will still continue to serve to the best of my ability. But I do hope residents will consider me seriously and give me a real opportunity to be an effective spokesperson for them."

The PAPzis are also pushing their luck with using the PA as a political instrument since AIMgate is fresh in the minds of Singaporeans. The PAPzis should learn to relinquish their stranglehold on democratic processes in Singapore. Ideas and policies are not a monopoly for the PAPzis. The PAPzis have run their ship to the ground and are relying on ever greater hold of ideas and policies. Does any sane person really believe that importing over a million foreign workers into a tiny island is the only national policy towards economic growth.
