I read the recent article [Link] on Dr Koh’s humble days of living off fish and porridge and how he “knows” what it’s like to struggle back in the old days, and how he can relate with families that are putting up with this struggle today.

Dr Koh should ask himself and the PAP, what had gone wrong. How is it after so many years of so called Swiss standard of living with sky high buildings and fast cars on small roads, you still see Singaporeans going hungry and picking of scraps from hawker centers?

You see our Singaporean elders waiting to clean tables, washing toilets and some even got no money to see the doctor, all this is still happening even after so years of PAP rule.

Dr Koh, if the PAP was never able to change or address these issues in the past, tell us what makes you so special that you can change anything after this bi-election?

This is not just for some of the residents of Punggol , but for many other Singaporeans as well.

To me the by-election is about getting more opposition into parliament so that we have more accountability and transparency, Singaporeans do not want “more of the same”, just look at the AIM’s saga, if we put more opposition into parliament, Singaporeans get more transparency and accountability and our issues can be addressed in parliament.

We can’t address anything if we have “more of the same” in parliament, because if your boss tells you to remain silent, I don’t think you will speak up for us.

Don’t have to look so far, just look around you and see the old and poor people in Singapore, the young and jobless or under employed Singaporeans, the high cost of HDB flats with no transparency on its building costs, the opening of flood gates to cheap labor to take away our jobs and depress our wages.

PAP even allow foreigners to lease our HDB public housing, and sell it for a handsome profit!

How did we become so poor? No prizes for guessing!

At the end of the day, you are a PAP man under the PAP umbrella that has been managing this country for ages. So, how do you expect to help Singaporeans who are struggling, when it was the PAP formulated policies that put us there in the first place?

“More of the same” Anyone?
Cheers,
.
Luke

Dr Koh is wasting everyone's time. There is little doubt that people of his age and older all had practically the same background. Our classmates' occupations as listed in the class register were staff like farmers, trishaw rider, road sweeper, mechanic etc. So there is NOTHING spectacular about his 'humble' background. Even Zoe Tay claimed that her father was a pig farmer when she became famous.

Note that he has made ZERO comments about the current housing, transportation, and FT issues - the same old fcuking motherhood statements about improving kindergartens etc.

So many story. He full time doctor or story teller? Part time definitely MP.

aiyah everyone must have a story to tell
how tall or short is up to him
the fish and bone story is touching
old uncle also got such a sad story to share
some of my friends got a golden spoon
from birth till now no need to study in school
nothing wrong to share a sad story
to gain sympathy votes he is not
to win the election and to gather the votes
so the good doctor is saying right
speaking well
please don't cast your ugly spell

I wonder how much he charge those rich indonesians businessmen in the private hospital.

So ironic that he understands the peasants population.

Peasants won't dream of going to private hospitals.

Anyone who believe this Aesop fable by Dr Evil should be taken away to have his brain examined.

To: Confuseous:

Very true. Most of the people in the 50 to 60 age group have parents who were farmers, etc.... I had a classmate whose father was a nightsoil collector. He is now the CEO of a few companies and has moved to the USA.

I have been waiting and waiting for Dr Koh to give his take and recommendations on transportation.
