[h=2]DPM Tharman: Average S'porean won't feel the sharp effects of inflation[/h]
http://business.asiaone.com/Business/News/Story/A1Story20120429-342813.html

its hard to notice inflation over one year. Its a silence thief. coz most people dont pay attention to it.
Its very fake to say average ppl wont feel the "sharp" effect.

U want to compare inflation? compare the food price 10 years ago or even 5 years ago.

Best is to compare housing price. because huge % of our entire life's labour efford will go into housing for most people.

Won't feel sharp effects........watch this video to get an idea. I was shocked (at least for dum dum me:o)

How to calculate doubling time. 70 divide by % constant growth per year (an assumption)

i.e. doubling time for 3% constant inflation per year = 70/3 = 23.3 years for prices to double

i.e. doubling time of 5% constant inflation per year = 70/5 = 14 years for prices to double

Questions like is the cpf min sum sufficient when you can withdraw for medical? etc.

No joke:(

Hawker food: oh sure the price may remain the same, but have you checked out the quantity served? Less of everything.

Not only has portions been cut but I notice that business is down.
There used to be a long(er) queue at a local economical rice store. However nowadays this same store has no queue & has to remain open longer.

I've also notice many closures. One store only lasted 1 month before closing down permanently

If the 60% continue supporting the PAP expect life to get very, very difficult for "lesser mortals".

If this botak ex-convict multi-millionaire PAP minister do not empathize with the ordinary people, just keep his bloody mouth shut, don't insult the people of Singapore by talking cock.
If he earns an average income of only $1,000.00 pm in Singapore ,don't tell us he will not feel the
sharp effects of inflation in Singapore(purchasing power has been reduced drastically).
