Greetings to Sam and All, it has been a while and wish all the very best of health.

Here is something I posted some years back. And it still holds true and hence the repost - I have not come across a single Admin/Mod like Sam in Singapore or elsewhere. Most unusual for someone raised and schooled in Singapore where we learn by rote, do not deviate and do not question.

"I remember within the first month or two of starting up the kopitiam in Delphi, one prick posted a porn photo. Sam told him that Delphi will make the noise and shut down the site. The guy refused. I thought Sam was going to ban him. Instead Sam kept appealing to the guy repeatedly and others joined as well. I thought it was bit odd for a mod/admin/owner to spend time explaining to that extent.

I was at that time more interested about the bullshit and falsehood about dual citizenship, people going to jail, if you are born Singaporean and you left at 2 years old to Australia, you were required to come back etc. I could not believe how the press and rumour mills were misleading people. I kept reading until I picked up the courage to post. One hand placed on the faith that Sam would not screw me and the other on getting the right information across.

It proved the right decision. Sam also became a strong advocate on running businesses for those who were keen to migrate and run a business in Canada and Oz. I remember one chap who was a hairdresser here and went over to Melbourne. And there was dozens others. One lady posted that her business in Bukit Timah was not doing well and was keen to migrate. She asked all the right questions and could see that she also did her research as well. For her diligence, one of the forum members offered to be her sponsor and she migrated with her family. It was so good to hear all these good stories. Those years you would spend your week getting lessons on running a business and proper English from Sam. The difference between advice and advise would be posted weekly.

And the journalists began sending PM to members."

STOMPing the path of the old Sammyboy forums

SINGAPORE – Sex sells. That is the reality. Sexual themes tend to be crowd pullers; a sex site or porn magazine will be able to draw in more audiences than a financial news daily for instance. No prizes for guessing which publication between Playboy magazine and Financial Times have a greater number of readers.

Some of the readers may be familiar with Sammyboy forums. At least, the reporters or journalists from The Straits Times and The New Paper should be, having quoted from Sammyboy forummers on certain occasions. The Sammyboy forum had erotic beginnings as a sex forum initially. At a certain point of time, forummers began to discuss and exchange views on non-sexual related topics ranging from sociopolitical issues to hobbies. Thus, the forum host set up the Sammyboy Alfresco Coffeeshop/Kopitiam to meet this end.

Stomp is attempting to emulate Sammyboy in this respect. It came up with a StarBlog section that comprises celebrities and mini-celebrities such as Maia Lee, Jamie Yeo and Dawn Yang. From the very outset, this Starblog section was meant to be a crowd puller. But there is more. Sometime back, each celebrity shared their sexual experiences or opinion of sex, something that was a usual feature in Sammyboy sex forums (Not Sammyboy Alfresco Coffeeshop). One of the eye-catchers was Jamie’s account of her first sexual experience and her first act of masturbation at 6. Whether it is considered positive or negative will depend on which perspective you are coming from.

When Stomp was first set up, there were some who initially feared that the former will establish a hegemony over popular sites that Singaporeans tend to visit. Others charged that Stomp was set up to divert traffic from popular sites with little or no censorship that Singaporeans tend to visit and this was the establishment’s way of ‘managing the Internet’ because Stomp is after all a Straits Times venture, and the Straits Times is notoriously known to some as the establishment’s mouthpiece.

Whatever the reasons behind Stomp’s establishment, the question is whether they will be able to emulate Sammyboy by making use of the proven “sex sells” mantra. It depends on the raison d’etre of Stomp and other extenuating circumstances. Stomp may be relatively successful in attracting certain sections of the crowd – those whom are into gossip chatter, tabloid materials, FHM or/and Maxim magazines and anything related to sex appeal. An importance difference between the establishment of Sammyboy Alfresco Coffeeshop and Stomp is the difference in eras in which they are established.

Sammyboy Alfresco Coffeeshop was established in an era where blogging was considered alien to many Internet users. And the technologies involved in the establishment of a blog such as the ones we see at Wordpress or Blogspot were probably in their primitive stages then. Thus, users usually expressed their views in the forums. When Stomp was established in 2006, blogging was already in fad, and there are a number of established technologies available that allows any user to seamlessly create a blog. Thus, if the other purpose of Stomp is to be a repository of opinions, it will face stiff competition from Wordpress and Blogspot. Simply put, if Stomp wants to play host to a myriad of views and opinions, it will have to do a Wordpress and Blogspot. But, Stomp from the outset was never in the molds of both blog publishing services.

If Stomp intends to be magnet to attract all kinds of audiences, it may fail in this respect. It may not get the better of Blogspot and Wordpress in terms of attracting opinionated netizens although it may attract others. Simply put, it is never in a position to compete with sites that provide intellectual-based contents. For those who worry that Stomp will divert traffic away from the intellectual sites, they can sleep easy at night.

Pushing the boundary in the control-minded city-state
By ERIC ELLIS

January 16, 2001
Web posted at 5:30 p.m. Hong Kong time, 4:30 a.m. EDT

Sammyboy.com is not a website you'd want your 11-year-old surfing into unsupervised. It's deep and content-rich, it's alluring, and, in the main, quite well-written. In places it is also funny. That's the glass half-full way of looking at it. The half-empty way is that it's lewd, crass and offensive. And that there's nothing funny about pornography.

Yes, Sammyboy is a porn site, aimed very directly at the country which arguably least tolerates porn: Singapore. Which is all very well except Official Singapore has yet to close it down. The site has been up and down, so to speak, several times over the past week, and on each occasion it was the site's webmaster, a Samuel Leong, who made the call to shut his own site down. Not the authorities.

What's happening here? Has the nanny state loosened up and is now tolerating porn? Can that be happening? As with many things in Singapore, not everything is as it seems.

Leong (if that's his real name) says he's not running a porn site. Instead he's running a community service. Sex, he says, is a bodily function that all of us at some point do, and all he's simply doing is bringing it out into the open.

I've had a close look at Sammyboy -- there, I admit it -- and I have decided that it is in fact a porn site. But one with qualifications. Where Sammyboy starts being a porn site -- and thus inviting the wrath of authorities -- is where it links to very serious porn sites, the ones that you sometimes click into by accident and then spend 10 frustrating minutes trying to close down all the recurring browsers. If Sammyboy didn't carry those links, then Leong's argument might stack up a bit more firmly.

Beyond that, Sammyboy is morphing into a kind of samizdat outlet where Singaporeans vent and satirize life in the city-state. That's another no-go area, where the government's patience has traditionally been pretty short. But if you hold your breath and dive in, the site can be pretty funny, and sometimes illuminating. There's links to information about bad Singapore Inc. investments that don't get talked about too much, a "conservative Asian values forum," and a pretty funny cartoon that speaks to the national ideology of making money.

Another taste of Sammy's sense of humor comes when you log on. A window appears warning "all SPH journalists to keep out. You are not welcome." SPH is Singapore's print media near-monopoly, the publisher of the pro-government Straits Times and New Paper. The latter, for your information, has been running a campaign to shut Sammy down. But it's a funny kind of campaign. The New Paper wrote a scolding article about the site, which simply served to lift Sammyboy's profile among the Singaporeans it warned not to surf there.

Sammy himself is a bit of a mystery. The site is hosted in California but registered to a Samuel Leong, which is kind of a Singapore Everyman name, in Auckland, New Zealand. I called the number on the registration site and spoke to a Morgan Yeo, who happened to be Singaporean but claimed to know nothing of Sammyboy, or Samuel Leong. "I just run a used car yard here," he pleaded.

So, what are authorities doing about it? So far, not much, but it's still early days. The Singapore Broadcasting Authority which regulates these things told the New Paper that "the Samuel Leong website is but one of countless number of pornographic sites on the Internet. "Given the borderless nature of the Internet and the vast number of undesirable sites on the Net, there is a limit of what legislation can do," said a spokesman.

Sites like Sammyboy test control regimes like Singapore. It's impossible to condone porn but where does it stop being porn and start being a content site. And what does it look like when the government mantra is to open up, become a media center, and then bans sites that claim not to strictly fall into the porn category?

My tip is that Singapore will jump on Sammyboy. And if Sammyboy -- or Leong -- was smart, and really wanted to make some money from advertisers, he'd take down the hardcore links and emphasis the user-guide aspect. And then he and the Singapore authorities could be talking the same language -- trying to help procreation.

The online sex porn sites made the internet popular. Which cats don't eat fish... uhhh?

Then came the computer games made the mobile phones popular. After the dotcom crash new html5 and JS coding computer games became popular which made Apple sold over millions of iPhones.

So it's all about sex porn and computer games that people want fun and play.

For your amusement don't take it too seriously, all truth are 1/2 truths. Law of Confusion or 'Freewill' is the name of the game lol...... :

THE SECRET COVENANT

An illusion it will be, so large, so vast it will escape their perception.

Those who will see it will be thought of as insane.

We will create separate fronts to prevent them from seeing the connection between us.

We will behave as if we are not connected to keep the illusion alive.

Our goal will be accomplished one drop at a time so as to never bring suspicion upon ourselves. This will also prevent them from seeing the changes as they occur.

We will always stand above the relative field of their experience for we know the secrets of the absolute.

We will work together always and will remain bound by blood and secrecy. Death will come to he who speaks.

We will keep their lifespan short and their minds weak while pretending to do the opposite.

We will use our knowledge of science and technology in subtle ways so they will never see what is happening.

We will use soft metals, aging accelerators and sedatives in food and water, also in the air.

They will be blanketed by poisons everywhere they turn.

The soft metals will cause them to lose their minds. We will promise to find a cure from our many fronts, yet we will feed them more poison.

The poisons will be absorbed trough their skin and mouths, they will destroy their minds and reproductive systems.

From all this, their children will be born dead, and we will conceal this information.

The poisons will be hidden in everything that surrounds them, in what they drink, eat, breathe and wear.

We must be ingenious in dispensing the poisons for they can see far.

We will teach them that the poisons are good, with fun images and musical tones.

Those they look up to will help. We will enlist them to push our poisons.

They will see our products being used in film and will grow accustomed to them and will never know their true effect.

When they give birth we will inject poisons into the blood of their children and convince them its for their help.

We will start early on, when their minds are young, we will target their children with what children love most, sweet things.

When their teeth decay we will fill them with metals that will kill their mind and steal their future.

When their ability to learn has been affected, we will create medicine that will make them sicker and cause other diseases for which we will create yet more medicine.

We will render them docile and weak before us by our power.

They will grow depressed, slow and obese, and when they come to us for help, we will give them more poison.

We will focus their attention toward money and material goods so they many never connect with their inner self. We will distract them with fornication, external pleasures and games so they may never be one with the oneness of it all.

Their minds will belong to us and they will do as we say.

If they refuse we shall find ways to implement mind-altering technology into their lives. We will use fear as our weapon.

We will establish their governments and establish opposites within.
We will own both sides.

We will always hide our objective but carry out our plan.

They will perform the labor for us and we shall prosper from their toil.

Our families will never mix with theirs. Our blood must be pure always, for it is the way.

We will make them kill each other when it suits us.

We will keep them separated from the oneness by dogma and religion.

We will control all aspects of their lives and tell them what to think and how.

We will guide them kindly and gently letting them think they are guiding themselves.

We will foment animosity between them through our factions.

When a light shall shine among them, we shall extinguish it by ridicule, or death, whichever suits us best.

We will make them rip each other's hearts apart and kill their own children.

We will accomplish this by using hate as our ally, anger as our friend.

The hate will blind them totally, and never shall they see that from their conflicts we emerge as their rulers. They will be busy killing each other.

They will bathe in their own blood and kill their neighbors for as long as we see fit.

We will benefit greatly from this, for they will not see us, for they cannot see us.

We will continue to prosper from their wars and their deaths.

We shall repeat this over and over until our ultimate goal is accomplished.

We will continue to make them live in fear and anger though images and sounds.

We will use all the tools we have to accomplish this.

The tools will be provided by their labor.

We will make them hate themselves and their neighbors.

We will always hide the divine truth from them, that we are all one.
This they must never know !

They must never know that color is an illusion, they must always think they are not equal.

Drop by drop, drop by drop we will advance our goal.

We will take over their land, resources and wealth to exercise total control over them.

We will deceive them into accepting laws that will steal the little freedom they will have.

We will establish a money system that will imprison them forever, keeping them and their children in debt.

When they shall ban together, we shall accuse them of crimes and present a different story to the world for we shall own all the media.

We will use our media to control the flow of information and their sentiment in our favor.

When they shall rise up against us we will crush them like insects, for they are less than that.

They will be helpless to do anything for they will have no weapons.

We will recruit some of their own to carry out our plans, we will promise them eternal life, but eternal life they will never have for they are not of us.

The recruits will be called "initiates" and will be indoctrinated to believe false rites of passage to higher realms. Members of these groups will think they are one with us never knowing the truth.
They must never learn this truth for they will turn against us.

For their work they will be rewarded with earthly things and great titles, but never will they become immortal and join us, never will they receive the light and travel the stars.

They will never reach the higher realms, for the killing of their own kind will prevent passage to the realm of enlightenment. This they will never know.

The truth will be hidden in their face, so close they will not be able to focus on it until its too late.

Oh yes, so grand the illusion of freedom will be, that they will never know they are our slaves.

When all is in place, the reality we will have created for them will own them.
This reality will be their prison. They will live in self-delusion.

When our goal is accomplished a new era of domination will begin.

Their minds will be bound by their beliefs, the beliefs we have established
from time immemorial.

But if they ever find out they are our equal, we shall perish then. THIS THEY MUST NEVER KNOW.

If they ever find out that together they can vanquish us, they will take action.

They must never, ever find out what we have done, for if they do, we shall have no place to run, for it will be easy to see who we are once the veil has fallen. Our actions will have revealed who we are and they will hunt us down and no person shall give us shelter.

This is the secret covenant by which we shall live the rest of our present and future lives, for this reality will transcend many generations and life spans.

This covenant is sealed by blood, our blood. We, the ones who from heaven to earth came.

This covenant must NEVER, EVER be known to exist. It must NEVER, EVER be written or spoken of for if it is, the consciousness it will spawn will release the fury of the PRIME CREATOR upon us and we shall be cast to the depths from whence we came and remain there until the end time of infinity itself.
