Fire marshal says Donald Trump DID smash Elton John's attendance record at New Hampshire arena

's claim that his Thursday night campaign rally broke a longstanding attendance record is true, according to the fire department official who supervised the crowd-counting.
'Great news!' the president tweeted after returning from the Southern New Hampshire University Arena to his New Jersey golf resort. 'Tonight, we broke the all-time attendance record previously held by Elton John at #SNHUArena in Manchester, New Hampshire!'
Manchester Deputy Fire Marshal Mitchell Cady told DailyMail.com that Trump was right – that his crowd numbered 'just over 11,500.'
Calling the president's tweet 'a topic of discussion around here,' Cady revealed that 'the arena staff said Elton John was around 11,300' in April 2004.
Cady also said his office estimated that at least 8,000 people stood outside the arena in an overflow crowd area, watching the rally on jumbo TV screens.

President Donald Trump spoke to more than 11,500 people at Southern New Hampshire University Arena in Manchester, N.H. on Thursday night, later making a claim that he had broken Elton John's attendance record; the Manchester Fire Marshal's Office confirmed Friday that he was right

Trump tweeted his news Thursday night; the record attendance figure didn't include an outside overflow crowd that the deputy fire marshal estimated at between 8,000 and 9,000
17371068-7365155-image-a-42_1565988790039.jpg

Trump tweeted this and other images Thursday night, showing an enthusiastic campaign rally audience – some of whom waited outside since dawn to get a good spot
'We weren't counting it,' he said of the outside crowd, 'but we estimated probably in the area of 8,000 to 9,000 out front.'
He and two deputies made notes Thursday night about the physical boundaries of the outdoor crowd, he said, and 'we measured out the space this morning.'
17370644-7365155-image-a-32_1565988379728.jpg

Manchester Deputy Fire Marshal Mitchell Cady told DailyMail.com that Trump was right and his crowd numbered 'just over 11,500'
'Based on the calculations we use for crowd load, we came to either 8 or 9 [thousand].'
Cady said that while his department's final inside crowd count of 11,500 is not higher than the number of Trump audience members allowed in the arena, it might be a slight under-estimate.
'Had some more snuck in during the period when we're trying to assess the situation and get the door closed, when we're trying to get everyone through the mags, then maybe it's "11,500-plus",' he said.
'Mags' is short for magnetometers, the walk-through metal detectors that U.S. Secret Service sets up to screen attendees of presidential events.
Trump's tweeted boast Thursday night led to intense debate online about whether he was exaggerating his popularity in New Hampshire, a state he claims he lost to Hillary Clinton only because of voter fraud that was investigated but never confirmed.
Some noted empty seats in the upper reaches of the arena in photographs and video feeds of the rally.
An official at the SNHU Arena who declined to be named, saying, 'You're not going to get me involved in all this political fighting,' said Friday that empty 'nosebleed seats' would have been offset 'by all the people cramming themselves into the standing-room space on the arena floor.'
'The Trump people wanted the fire marshal to let more people in, and at some point they say no,' the official said. 'But there were tons and tons more outside. It's not like they couldn't fill the place.'
Trump 2020 re-election campaign officials did not respond to requests for comment on Friday.

President Trump pokes fun at his Democrat opponents during rally

This photo, distributed on Twitter by the president's social media team, shows part of the overflow crowd Thursday night – people who were turned away when the fire marshal ordered the doors closed for safety; the deputy marshal and his team calculated that it contained between 8,000 and 9,000 people in all
Trump has consistently come under fire for overstating the size of his rally crowds, and has claimed to break a rock star's attendance record at least once before.
Before the future president arrived at a February 3, 2016 campaign rally in Little Rock Arkansas, a man Trump later identified as the fire marshal announced on stage that the crowd had broken a record set by ZZ Top in 1974.
'In 1974 we had ZZ Top here and we set our all-time record of 11,451,' Ralph Shoptaw said on stage. 'I have just been informed that we have broken that record. Over 11,500. So welcome, Mr. Trump to Barton Coliseum.'
That proved to be untrue: Photos and video shot during Trump's speech showed the coliseum sparsely populated. Local journalists estimated the crowd size at fewer than 6,000.
When Trump entered the arena and looked out over a half-empty venue, he repeated the claim that he had set a new attendance record.
'Amazing!' Trump began his speech that night. 'So we broke the record, and I asked the fire marshal, "Please come up because nobody's going to believe me. Please come up".'
'That's a long-time record that we broke,' Trump repeated. 'Incredible.'
'That guy's got a serious weight problem' Trump mocks rally protester

Trump has fudged his attendance numbers in the past; after one February 2016 rally in Arkansas, he tweeted a close-in photo with a claim that 12,000 people had set a record
17370646-7365155-image-m-49_1565990495883.jpg

This photo, shot while Trump was speaking during the same event, shows massive empty areas; a man Trump falsely claimed was the Little Rock fire marshal had come out earlier in the evening to claim the audience had broken ZZ Top's record from 1974
Trump's 'record breaking' Little Rock turnout falls short

Shoptaw later told DailyMail.com that he was the arena's facilities manager, not the local fire marshal, and that the Trump campaign had asked him to make the announcement – which rocketed around the world at Internet speed.
Shortly after Trump finished his speech, he tweeted: 'THANK YOU to everyone in Little Rock, Arkansas tonight! A record crowd of 12K.'
The president said during Thursday night's rally that he drew 32,000 people to a November 2016 rally in Michigan that started after midnight on Election Day.
DailyMail.com attended that rally at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids, his final event before returning home to New York to await voters' judgment.
The convention center space the Trump campaign rented held a maximum capacity of 4,200 people, Grand Rapids Fire Chief John Lehman told DailyMail.com that night, saying it was filled to capacity more than two hours before Trump arrived.
Organizers had slid open massive divider walls to let more in, he said, estimating that the result 'might double the number' to 8,400.

This proves yet again that Trump is the best! China is fucked!

Attendance may not have any actual bearing to election results. The Opps in Singapore attracted much bigger crowd attendance , but they failed miserably in the election results.

Many people flocked to see Trump mostly for entertainment because , you got to admit it, he is one hell of a good entertainer. The other thing, Melania looks gorgeous next to a beast and people can't help wanting to see more of her.

At the end of the day people vote for the candidate that will deliver the goods.

Thousands of union workers given option to either attend Trump speech at Shell or lose out on wages: reports

Union workers at the Shell petrochemical plant in Pennsylvania where President Trump spoke earlier this week were given the option of attending or losing out on wages, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

According to the newspaper, a contractor with the plant told workers attendance at the event was "not mandatory."

But the contractor added that only the employees who were onsite at 7 a.m. and prepared to have their identification cards scanned and attend the speech would earn money for the time, the newspaper reported.

In a statement to The New York Times, Shell spokesman Ray Fisher said "it was understood some would choose not to attend the presidential visit and were given the option to take paid time off."

"As with any workweek, if someone chooses to take [paid time off] they are not eligible to receive the maximum overtime available," he continued.

isher explained that the day "was treated as a training (work) day with a guest speaker who happened to be the president," adding that workers also took part in "safety training and other work-related activities" on Tuesday morning.

"It's not uncommon for us to shut down the site for quarterly visits from VIPs - popular sports figures like Rocky Bleier and Franco Harris have visited the site to engage with workers and to share inspirational messages. Shell/Penske NASCAR driver Joey Logano was another guest at the site," Fisher told the Post-Gazette.

The workers were also reportedly warned that "no yelling, shouting, protesting or anything viewed as resistance will be tolerated at the event," according to the Post-Gazette.

Ken Broadbent, who works as a business manager for Steamfitters local 449, one of the unions working at the construction site, told the paper that "this is just what Shell wanted to do and we went along with it."

"We're glad to have the jobs. We're glad to have the project built," he said. "The president is the president whether we like him or dislike him. We respect him for the title."

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill.

Trump is scared shit ...that's why he suspended the tariff until Dec 15.
on the contrary the tariff increases are a godsend. prc had to devalue her currency in order to make goods cheaper for u.s. importers. the "discount" from devaluation helps offset some of the increases in tariffs. moreover, tariffs bring in sextra revenue to u.s. gov coffers and help offset decreased collection in taxes as a result of the tax reform bill. u.s. companies are now willing to manufacture their products in the u.s. as a result of lower taxes (thus higher margins and earnings and more jobs created domestically) and absorb the tariffs as a new cost of doing business with the net result of both profitability and productivity, albeit with a long term forecast of higher cost of labor. it's welcomed as bitter but good medicine as inevitably these companies cannot rely on "cheap" prc labor anymore as prc's labor is becoming increasingly sexpensive. it's ok if american companies are now making 69% margin using american labor and factories instead of 96% margin using prc labor and factories. trump is teaching american industry to be patriotic and not to be all about greed.

He helped the working class, and the black people to find jobs.

Don't let your TDS blind you.

The reality is not as you said, disappointingly to you. But if you insist on your perception as the truth, it is okay. We all need to hang onto to something to maintain our sanity.

The problem with you is that you're too gullible. I suggest you do your own research rather than rely on the liberal media.

Please indulge me here as your factually misplaced response does deserve some attention.

1. Tariffs bring in revenue to US government but the extra cost gets passed on to the consumers. That is tantamount to a tax increase to the consumers. So, the working class - the group that Trump is appealing to - gets a double whammy, gets little from the huge tax reforms and now pay more for goods;

2. I have not seen the stats yet but the general view is that some manufacturing is shifted back to US. BUT, is the US consumer willing to pay the higher prices. If all the components that go into the iPhone is made in the US, the price would be a total put-off to the US consumer. Will the rest of the world be willing to pay high prices for US products? Doubt it.

3. Business is all about maximizing profit. Patriotism matters little. Even Trump gives shit about patriotisim. That's why he has Mexicans working in his resorts instead of paying more to hire Americans.

1. There is a trade war going on. The alternative is just to sit back and let China do whatever it likes. That's what Obama did ie a big fat NOTHING which was the root cause of the shit that the US ended up in after 8 wasted years.

2. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. China is not cheap anymore and the USA is getting cheaper.

3. Are you saying that the Mexicans are illegal immigrants? Where did you get that info?

what talking you? so far as a consumer i haven't seen any increase in prices of products ordered online since beginning of this year. in fact, there are purchase credits and discounts plus free shipping and daily sales promotion. this is why retail and consumer index in america for the past quarters sexploded to record highs. obviously suppliers are absorbing any sextra tariffs collected, either by paying less to prc manufacturers or improving their efficiencies, or both. if there is any (fake) news of prices going up because of tariffs, i have not seen nor felt it. the truth is that stiff competition, over supply, and overstocking have brought prices down. for farm products, prices actually came down as supplies meant for prc are sold domestically to a competitive market and internationally to speculators looking for bargains. for example, almonds were very sexpensive when prc demand for california almonds shot up the last decade. but lately, prices have fallen as there's a huge harvest (again, to over compensate for the china market) and inventory of unsold almonds. american consumers are now benefiting from the over supply as now more can afford (used to be unaffordable) almond milk, almond based food and products. a carton of organic almond milk used to cost $4.99 but is now selling for $2.99 at sprouts. and i see more cake shops and bakery generously adding almonds to their offerings.
