An AVA spokesman said on Friday that tests of meat samples taken from the eatery showed that Song Hua Jiang Restaurant did not use dog meat.

'The meat used for the 'dog meat' dish was confirmed to be of porcine species,' she added.

On Sunday, the three-year-old restaurant and its owner, who is from China, had raised hackles - and heckles - after a netizen posted a picture of its menu on online forums.

The picture showed a page in the menu that said, in English, that 'braised dog meat' was for sale.

Mr Song Yu Ran, 39, the restaurant's owner, had clarified in a Straits Times story on Tuesday that it was a typographical error.

While fellow Sporeans who are Oppos and who support the Oppos are treated worse than dogs by the FAP. Thank you again, 60%!

Bloody Ah Tiong will be cleared by AVA. PAPies are now sucking up to them & Ah Nehs.

:oIo::oIo:Once again, screw the bloody 60%:oIo::oIo:

If they were selling pork instead of the listed "dog meat", then is it not blatant cheating? Should not the relevant authorities charge this Ah Tiong with misleading customers?

lianbeng asks, "how to differentiate dog meat from pig meat in a claypot of dark soya sauce? 猪脚 or 狗脚? ofcoz when those chenghoo-lang come show them pig's trotters but underneath dog's paws mah." :D
by the way, is this a GE issue?
