Doesn’t placing this poster defeat the intended purpose?​

I spotted this outside the Sheng Shiong Outlet in Junction 10. Why do the police put this poster if they wanna secretly catch shoplifters? Isn’t it defeating the purpose or acting as a free warning? Or is this part of their protocol?

Like that means scammers see this poster can go around pretend to be plain clothes police and scam people or not?

It actually enhance it! The goal is to prevent crimes , not to catch criminals.

Same.with speed cameras, they just want u to slow down, not catch u speeding.

The purpose is to deter shoplifting since the security and police cannot be everywhere in the store at all times.

It actually enhance it! The goal is to prevent crimes , not to catch criminals. Same.with speed cameras, they just want u to slow down, not catch u speeding.

I believe many of the red light and speed cameras are dummies. I drove over the speed limit on a few occasions and even unconsciously ran a red light camera before, but never received a summons.

It is like placing a huge signboard that says: "Beware of the Sign" in the middle of the expressway that causes vehicles to swerve around it, and careless drivers to collide into it. Hahaha.
