A man was charged in a district court yesterday with causing the death of his girlfriend at a carpark in Jurong two Sundays ago.

Chinese national Liu Zhongwei, 31, a logistics driver, is alleged to have driven his car forward while his girlfriend, kindergarten teacher Li Minna, 32, was standing in front of it.

He apparently hit her, causing her death. For that, he was charged with causing her death by committing a rash act not amounting to culpable homicide.

Liu is suspected of leaving the scene after the woman was knocked down.

Something wrong somewhere. Either Traffic Police or reporter is a moron. Not difficult to ascertain if suspect fled the scene or remained behind. No need to use "suspected of leaving the scene.' It's either at scene or not at scene.
