A large population gives a massive advantage for team sports like football. To field a world class team, a country needs up to 30 elite players which means the national coach requires a massive pool of high-quality footballers competing against each other domestically to push standards up. In order to win the World Cup, population size, wealth and infrastructure as well as sporting culture must exist side-by-side. Small countries such as Cape Verde, Curacao, New Zealand and Iceland may make it to the World Cup, but few advance beyond the group stage.

If population size is the deciding factor, the World Cup would be contested primarily between China (1.4 billion), India (1.4 billion) and USA (349 million). Uruguay with a population of 3.4 million, have won the cup twice; proof that population size is not a guarantee of success.

Countries smaller than S'pore like Cape Verde, Curacao and Iceland, with a far more challenging ecosystem, managed to qualify for the World Cup. Cape Verde gave Argentina an almighty scare before losing in extra time in the Round of 32 to the defending champions. Iceland which did not qualify this year, climbed from 131 in the 2012 FIFA World Ranking to 22 in 2018. During the 2018 World Cup, with a population of only 340,000 people compared to S'pore which has 3.4 million citizens, Iceland had no right to be at the forefront of world football.

starting from this wc nigger genes will dominate the sport. an island or cuntry of 699k niggers will beat the shit out of 6.9m sg.

Jordan Emaviwe is a local born player who represents the S'pore national football team, who is of Nigerian and S'porean Chinese descent. Bill Mamadou is a defender for the Young Lions and Lion City Sailors who has a father from Mali.

The North and South American countries as well as most European nations have citizens with African ancestry and some naturalised players.

spgs need to fuck more niggers than their favorite amdk. 2 token niggers do not make a soccer summer.

A rigged play will likely have a higher chance of World Cup success.

S'pore needs to break free from years of transition and perpetual underachievement to start fulfilling our potential through astute leadership. The FAS must change its approach by focusing on bringing in cultural change from the academy to senior level. While youth development must be strongly encouraged, the shortage of talent may be mitigated through the recruitment of foreign-born players with S'porean lineage as well as foreigners who have come through the ranks at our local clubs and wish to take up SG citizenship.

We also question why Malay/Muslim ministers are frequently restricted to portfolios such as social affairs or the environment. Is this a result of meritocracy where Malays are always outnumbered by Indians is truly being practiced, why is their representation limited to these specific sectors rather than a broader range of ministerial responsibilities?

The few Malay MPs with impressive tertiary qualifications are elevated to a level beyond where they can perform well in the PAP govt.

What about NZ with 5.3 million population but a major force in Rugby World Cup?
This proves that population size is not that important, which has been proven already in football because Uruguay, which is of a similar size to S'pore, has won the World Cup twice.
