Do people still append their academic titles at the end of the names ? Such as BBA or BA ?

What is your opinion ? Do you think it amounts to showing off ? Or do you think it's necessary ?

It's not necessary and it's a dated practice.

It is showing off when the academic qualification is irrelevant to the job title, like for example, property agent.

Insurance agent who have finance degree can put it down to boost their credentials. That is not showing off as it is relevant to what they r doing.

I don't coz I have too many degrees. And I don't mind leaving them all out as long as my 90 degree is in order.

It depends on the profession you are in. Displaying your credentials adds professional credibility.

in any case, most professional bodies need you to be to kept up to date with industry practices (through course-hours or exams) in order to remain a member.

I would think one profession that should really have the academic titles prominently displayed - Private Tutor !
