dash from building to building when it's damn hot and humid in sg. it's like fibua fighting. the sun, heat and steam are constantly attacking you. you need cover and you need to run for your life. especially good tactic when every building is air conditioned. great for rain too. :p

Having an outside job might seem hard but it may be healthier. I'm sure there are some sick buildings in Spore which are sealed tighter than a drum
Staying indoors you are constantly exposed to the fumes of carpeting, man made chemicals, etc Which may explain some of the cancers people are getting

sg commercial buildings and spanking new malls are ok. common floors are mostly marble, granite or stone. walls are mostly glass, aluminium and stainess steel. if there's concrete, it's mostly painted over with water soluble eggshell or semi-gloss. the only risk is from fumes from engineered wood floors in stores or offices. but judging from the quality of material, it's not that bad as sinkies are extremely susceptible to toxic fumes and smelly floors in high end shops and offices. i've seen carpeted floors in sg. wtf? they're most likely the worst offenders of toxic fumes in offices. luckily, not too many i've come across. the worst toxicity is from pollutants and acid in the air near jurong.

All the places where I've worked were carpeted. Very rare to find uncarpeted because carpeting reduces the noise levels. It's also cheaper than using other materials. Many office buildings turn off the aircon on weekends to save on the power bills & if you have to work on these days you are breathing stale air. Don't forget about the toner from the printer, the glues & the paints used on the office furniture. Not all offices can afford Herman Miller office furniture. The materials used on cheaper furnitre e.g. chinese furniture do not have any basic specification on safety

We'll never know for sure because the PAP will not spend the $$ to investigate.

Another problem with visiting commercial buildings frequently is that your IC will cracked easily due to the frequently changing of passes.
Mine is about to break into two. One unknown security guard has the decency to scotch tape it for me.

why is the pap responsible for everything a developer and building owner purchase and install? are you asking for a more bloated bureaucracy and giant test labs to test everything from corian countertops to condoms? in a so called free society, the onus rests with the buyer and landlord with little to no regulatory interference from the ruling party, otherwise misconstrued as the health regulator in sg. unless of course sg is not a free society to you, and you demand that the pap also clean your arse with bleach-free toilet rolls made with organically grown cotton.
