I think it's the diet. Please advise I like to know more about shit as well.
 
Do you have bowel movements everyday? If not then your shit will be hard and sticky. Plum juice or more fruit intake will help you to defecate everyday. Make it a must to do it once a day as a habit.

Yes I do have movement at least 1-2 times a day, only occasionally if I sleep too late, or not enough sleep, or bet too much $ on soccer being too Kan Cheong, then will missed it for the day. ;)

Missing is okay....a doctor friend taught me to use the 3 times rules.
Anything with 3 times per day to 3 times a week is normal....anything more or less then see a doctor.

As Fook Seng pointed out, if your stool is black, it could indicate a problem higher up. You need to be scoped from the top down to rule out stomach cancer and ulcers.

The higher up the source of the blood, the darker the stool will be.
 
Get fleet enema for adults. Although single use, you can fill up with water and reuse again and again. Put some vaseline and shove the tip up your a-hole, squeeze. Your rectum soon fills with water and so is the urge to shit. Enjoy. Do that before doing anything important, like giving a 2 hrs speech on National day. Wear brown underwear in case you repeat 'mee siam mai hum'.

This is something new to me...however I would propose this solution to people who are having constipation once in a blue moon kind. Whereas my problem is a daily basis...I cannot be pumping saline everyday :D

If I drink stout then confirm next morning will be black.
Normal varies from dark brown to light brown.
I've never had solid or hard shit in ages....now is always soft shit...I missed shitting solid shit

By the time you get those symptoms, it would be a bit late if malignancy is involved. It would be best to get things checked out at the first signs of any possible symptom rather than when all the symptoms are manifesting themselves at the same time.
 
Sometime I have black hard shit, sometime brownish sticky shit that makes wiping difficult, often leaving stains in my underwear, sometime liquid shit, very rarely have a nicely cut off shit which I loved to have, sometime no shit at all. Is it possible for a person to maintain the same kind of nicely cutoff shit all the time ? If yes how to ? This sticky shit is really driving me crazy , always late for work due to that.:cool:

The best shit is when the shit is out of the body. Shit is serious business as it is basically body waste. The longer it remains in the body, the more the germs and toxins in it will poison the body and cause health issues over a period of time if the same situation remains.

Shit that is loose will be released more easily as compared to those that are hard, dry or sticky. So in a way loose shit is good shit. The person's diet has a big impact on the nature of the shit:

a If diet contains more fibres (vegetables and fruits), after digestion is completed, the fibres will still remain undigested and loosen the shit. For example, if one eats a meal of sweet corn, whatever can be digested and absorbed (the starchy and nutrient portions) will be done. The kernels and the outer coverings will remain and be passed out for us to see. Same with a lot of vegetable fibres.
b If more meat is eaten and digested, what remains is either absorbed and if not, will form part of the shit. This is where the remains will clump together into a sticky mass.
c Food that are 'heaty', dry, or absorbs a lot of fluids (preserved meats/food, nuts, raisins, etc) will contribute to dry shit.
d How much water one drinks a day also affects the shit. Drink more water and some remaining water not absorbed by the large intestines will be mixed together with the shit to loosen it. On the other hand, some liquids like alcohols or certain medicines/drugs will dehydrate the body and the shit will become drier.

Thus, how to have better shit? Eat more vegetables, fruits and natural fibres (oats, wheat, corn, potatoes, etc) and ensure that the body is well hydrated. When one is is getting on in age, the body metabolism will slow down and the body is less and less efficient in digesting the food, it becomes more important that the right kind and appropriate food is consumed to ensure good shit.

Finally, as some bros pointed out, shit that is always sticky is not normal. One possibility could be the presence of blood in the shit which could be the result of ulcers, piles, polyps, abnormal growth or internal bleeding anywhere along the digestive system. A medical checkup is best done soonest to uncover any problems early so that some remedy can be sought and treatment started.

Probably still not enough fibre. Why not try a cereal breakfast to add bulk and at the same time loosen the stool? By the way, did you go for a blood sugar test to eliminate diabetes. Diabetes can cause water absorption by the body (to be passed out as urine), hardening the stool.

after your thorough gut to butt probes by a good doctor (over here we call them proctologist), have your bile, liver and pancreas checked. chances are that you don't have pancreatic ailments or worse, cancer, if your shit is not white. if it's always or often black, there's internal bleeding somewhere. follow the advice of folks here and get a thorough inspection. right away.

if everything is cleared by the doctor, follow bedeque's advice on food and hydration. if you don't shit regularly, like twice to thrice, a day, and have the perfect shit, follow my advice.

supplement your food intake with acidophilus, which is a probiotic. it's bacteria, but it's good bacteria that will help in your digestive system. active acidophilus must be refrigerated, and there are solid types which come in capsules and liquid types which are bottled. buy a powerful bottle, which has billions of flora, drink a spoonful or swallow a capsule a day, and after a week, you'll have the perfect shit every day.

so perfect and smooth, you don't need to clean your arse.

better than those who wash their arse with a hose after each dump and carry or ask for a bidet where ever they go. :p

Some more sharing of sxxx.

Believe me, the good shit everyday, is an impossible dream, for shit will be formed and released accordingly to many many circumstances of the person, not just of the present but also of the past.

Just to share with you the efforts done in trying to have good shit:
a Diet with lots of vegetables. Meat not so much and whatever that comes along, but no steak lunches or dinners, unless it is fish;
b Drinking lots of water every day, something like more than 2 litres;
c Drinking fruit juice consisting of vegetables and fruits, on average 4 or 5 times a week;
d Occassional eating of fresh papayas, pineapples, oranges, apples, mangoes;
e Eating small fresh onions and garlic every other day to aid digestion;

Despite the above, good shit, that is, loose and easy to come out is not an everyday occurrence. It will be a happy day usually when the shit comes out loose early in the morning. But, some mornings, the shit is just difficult to come out. What comes out will be a little and seems hard. Fortunately, some days too, just a few hours later, another dump will result in shit that is looser and easier to come out. Why?

Then must look back at what were eaten just the day or two/three days before. Was the quantity of food, especailly of vegetables too little? Was some new food introduced into the diet? Did some tit bits or dry biscuits get eaten (which will dehydrate the body)? Did one eat too much bak chang and the glutinious rice was just not so easily digestible? A small reflection and some adjustment of the diet for the next few days need to be done. Eating slightly more onions/garlic or papaya or introduce a little more spice into the diet seem to help. Just be careful not to overeat any food and lao sai.

Again what was done and applicable for one person may not apply to all others. For most people, a diet with more fibres and water content will be helpful to produce good shit.

Finally, in the midst of everyone's busy schedule, if one is really keen to have good shit, then some efforts need to be put in to find out about one's previous diets and plan out better diets for the future. Sometimes, it is easier said than done for one will come up against the issue of food that is 'nice to eat' versus 'not nice to eat', tasty vs not tasty, etc. and personal food preferences. The choice is individual and individual efforts are called for.

Any problems with the digestive system also need to be looked into and resolved, early. It also takes time (one month at least) of appropriate diet for the body to adjust to a stable level to produce consistent good shit, at least on most days of the week.
