This guy (Calvin Cheng) who is still a PAP man at heart did not ask himself the same question. When there were already 82 PAP MPs, he resigned from PAP on paper for formality sake to become a NMP, adding to their numbers.

The PAP also did not perform well if WP didn't. Since poor performers don't deserve to be in parliament, I hope he's not suggesting to leave parliament empty except Lina Chiam.
