do u think Tan JS Q&A at rally too artifical?

Yes; to a certain stage, the Q&A has to be stage-managed to extract the maximum effect & political mileage & therefore it came across as rather artificial but not over-the-top though!:) Imho, I find some of his personal anecdotes sincere & insightful.;)

Which one do you think is too realistic, realistic, artificial or too artificial? :)

Yea. No amount of papist propanganda shit will deter me from voting against TJS. Vote Tan Jee Say.

The Q & A would have been more appropriate for a smaller-scale, more intimate setting, like a live TV talk show or a small auditorium. Not at an election rally in a big open stadium.

But TJS's sincerity, conviction and down-to-earth persona shone through. His anecdote about how his parents had to scrimp to get 9 kids through school was quite touching.

To me it doesn't matter whether it is artificial. No matter who we vote for, Tony Tan will win the election. 35-40% votes will be sufficient. It is a clear fact that we cannot deny. 99.9% Tony Tan will win. The civil servant, union etc enough to let him got enough votes. President got no power at all to me. Even if he disagree with issues within his rights, as long as 3/4 of the MP support the government decision, they can overwrite him. What we vote for now is to pull down the votes of Tony Tan. To show the government don't play play with us treating us as cowards at all times.

make sure you do that and not just TCSS. i heard about you from the other forum you fucking small boy betrayer never do what you say. fucking hypocrite.

I hope chairman of Ministrial salary committee, Gerard Ee will take this into consideration.

Asked whether he would run presidency if he is not paid, TJS replied "I would do it for $1, like Steve Jobs."

ideally, it would be nice if the Q&A was done in the comfort of a studio, but there will still be cynical trolls calling it rehearsed & pretentious. and usage of studio cost $.

even if the Q&A were pre-conceived, the man did it in 1 take, live, infront of the reduced crowd soon after his closing speech. it shows how frugal the man is with his campaign expenditure, as well as how genuine/ sincere he really is.

if the highest office in Sg really draws $1, pinky will be crying rivers (perhaps even deltas), cos the ratio would mean he'd be drawing 75cts, and the formula works downwards for the other croonies. LOL ... make the entire cabinet relive NS, especially putu-cherry.

Yes. Obviously scripted and quite artificial. Not very 'professional' in the actual delivery that night. He was holding the script & referring to it. The questions were, however, quite direct to his perceived weaknesses - lack of stellar track record in business and public service. He tried to address them truthfully, but there were still gaps. He wants to promote helping the aged and youth, based on his personal experience with caring for his mother and his overseas studies. But other than that, he has never done such public service for others in his life. He has, in fact, no record of any public service except the last 6 months electioneering.

But he does not hide any of these and almost brought all of them in the open. Maybe naive compared to what Western politicians may do. In a funny way, however, this does makes him seem honest and sincere, something consistent with what others say about him.
