Some seniors feel entitled owing to their age and frailty. As such, they believe that younger customers would not mind them going to the head of the queue to place their orders with the hawker or wet market stallholder. It has happened to me several times, and I have no issue with it since it is always a single elderly person - not an entire group. How about you all?

I was next in the queue for duck rice at Ghim Moh Hawker Centre this morning when a sneaky woman with white hair slowly slid in front to ask what time the stallholder normally opens on weekends. Thinking that she was simply making an inquiry, the hawker answered her, and then she immediately ordered 2 plates of duck rice and 1 char siew rice. The hawker looked apologetic, but kind of signalled to me to be patient with that elderly queue jumper.
